Lipreading classes can help adults of all ages, with any degree of hearing loss, to communicate better in everyday life. Classes can help boost your confidence and are a great way to do something positive and practical about your hearing loss.
Classes are informal, friendly and supportive; taught by a qualified and experienced lipreading tutor who will encourage you to relax and have a laugh. You’ll meet others with a hearing loss and be able to share useful tips & advice.
Practical lipreading activities including finding out about and comparing the different shapes sounds make on the lips and games and quizzes to help you develop your skills. Information will be provided on a range of topics such as the ear and how it works, communication tactics and coping strategies, and the services, specialist equipment and support available to help you manage your hearing loss.
