Award-winning actor and producer Scott Kyle (Outlander, Kajaki, The Angels’ Share, Billy & Tim) brings his most personal and powerful work to the stage.
Having spent time in foster care as a child — and years later becoming a foster carer himself — Scott’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and full-circle transformation. Twenty years ago, he discovered the play Billy & Tim in his local library. From there, he built it into the biggest show in Scotland, before losing the rights. Now, after finally regaining them, he’s back producing the show once again — bigger and better than ever.
Alongside this remarkable journey, Scott recalls how he (unknowingly) almost turned down the chance to work with Hollywood icon Harrison Ford, a reminder that life-changing opportunities can appear when you least expect them.
Blending heartfelt storytelling with award-winning animations, It’s Not Where You Start is both intimate and visually striking. It’s a tribute to memory, belonging, and the power of second chances — and a reminder that our beginnings don’t define our endings.
