Kirkcaldy Yoga Festival Returns for 2026 with a Week Long Summer Solstice Celebration Across the Town
Kirkcaldy’s Yoga Festival is back this June with its biggest and most inclusive programme yet—a full week of classes, workshops, talks, and outdoor sessions designed to welcome absolute beginners, seasoned practitioners, families, teens, and older adults alike. Running from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 June 2026, the festival brings yoga into community venues across the town, with all classes just £5 (concessions £2.50) and several free events.
This year’s Summer Solstice edition features more than 25 sessions delivered by local studios and teachers, showcasing the depth and diversity of yoga available in Kirkcaldy. From gentle restorative classes to energising flows, from somatic practices to aerial yoga, and from outdoor sessions to specialist workshops, the programme is designed to make yoga accessible, enjoyable and relevant to everyday wellbeing.
Festival organiser Jo Mitchell says the aim is simple: to open the doors of yoga to everyone in the Langtoun.
“Kirkcaldy has an incredible yoga community—skilled teachers, welcoming studios and a real commitment to inclusion,” Jo said. “This festival is about celebrating that talent, encouraging people to try something new, and showing that yoga truly is for every body.”
Programme Highlights Include:
• Yoga for Seniors & Health Conditions – a supportive, accessible session to help people move with confidence.
• The Science of Yoga Talk – a free event at Kirkcaldy Galleries exploring the evidence behind yoga’s benefits.
• Rise and Shine Yoga, Hot Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Gentle Flow, and Somatic Yoga – a wide range of styles for all levels.
• Inversions Workshop at the Adam Smith Theatre – for those curious about building strength and balance.
• Teen Yoga Class – supporting young people’s wellbeing and confidence.
• Aerial Yoga – a playful, uplifting practice at Grace Wellness Studio.
• Outdoor Sessions including Morning Yogic Stretch at the Adam Smith Global Foundation and free Yoga on Volunteers’ Green.
• Solstice Specials such as Yin to Yang Flow, Summer Solstice Flow, and a 90 minute Somatic Meditation & Sound Bath.
Classes take place in venues across Kirkcaldy, including Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre, Adam Smith Theatre, Grace Wellness Studio, Linton Lane Centre, The Movement Clinic Fife, Kirkcaldy Galleries, Mind & Body Studio and community outdoor spaces.
The festival continues to align with Scotland’s wider wellbeing and prevention priorities, offering low cost, community based activities that support physical and mental health.
Andrew Walker, Fife Council “we are delighted to support the Kirkcaldy Yoga Festival and encourage Kirkcaldy residents to look at the variety of options available to them to participate in yoga as a practical, enjoyable tool for everyday health.
Evelyn Crichton from Fife Sports and Leisure “Supporting this festival has always been about one simple idea: yoga belongs to everyone in Kirkcaldy. Whether you’re stepping onto a mat for the first time or returning to a practice you love, we want people to feel welcomed, supported and part of something bigger. This year’s programme reflects the spirit of the Langtoun — friendly, down to earth and full of heart. We’re bringing yoga into community spaces, outdoors, into studios, and into moments of everyday life, so that anyone can find a class that feels right for them. That’s what this festival is all about: connection, confidence and community.”
Ryan Strachan from Love Oor Langtoun “The Langtoun Festival has helped other smaller events come into existence. The Kirkcaldy Yoga Festival happened for the first time in 2025 as a one day event, under the umbrella of the Langtoun Fesival. We are delighted to see this year’s event grow into a 7 day offering with 29 sessions, involving 17 yoga teachers across 10 Kirkcaldy venues. When I visited Jo Mitchell’s Yoga class at the Adam Smith Theatre, earlier this year, I was struck by the strong community atmosphere in the class. I believe attending a regular yoga class can be a great way to benefit your health and connect with other people in the town.
